Overview

The St. James Theatre has been a Broadway mainstay for nearly a century and has welcomed millions of patrons through its doors. It has housed dozens of notable productions, including The King and I, The Producers, American Idiot, Hair and the original run of Hello, Dolly!. Since 2018, Disney's latest Broadway production Frozen headlines the marquee, which has set box office records since premiering at the St. James. It is one of Broadway's larger venues with a seating capacity of roughly 1,700.

Handicap Accessibility

Wheelchair accessible seating is only available in the Orchestra section of the theater, as there are no stairs needed to access the section from the theater's entrance. In addition, there are a number of seats with movable armrests to accommodate guests with limited mobility in all sections of the theater. Mezzanine and Balcony seating require guests to navigate stairs to reach, as there is no elevator within the building. Venue staff are on hand to assist handicapped guests in locating their seats. An accessible family restroom is located on the main level, while all other restrooms are located about 20 stairs lower than the Orchestra section.

Club/Suite Ticket Packages

Due to being a small-scale venue, there are no premium seating packages available at the St. James Theatre. However, views to the stage are optimal no matter where you are seated.

Amenities

The St. James Theatre is adorned with charming, classical architecture and ornate details as well as cushioned seats. Bringing in outside food and drink is prohibited, but guests can grab light refreshments while inside. A variety of light snacks, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages can be found at the theater's onsite bar. Items are available for purchase prior to a performance and during any intermission. For those who wish to purchase a memento from the performance can browse various merchandise available for purchase at booths on both the Orchestra and Mezzanine levels.

Parking/Transportation

Given the theater's location in the heart of Manhattan, parking is extremely limited. Guests who choose to drive themselves there are encouraged to purchase parking in advance using the theater's official parking service. For those who opt to take public transportation, the theater is located within a short walking distance from the 42nd Street - Port Authority Bus Terminal Station, which serves the A, C and E train's of the city's subway system.
