Overview

The Minskoff Theatre is one of the newer theaters on Broadway having opened in 1973. Throughout its history, it has housed a number of notable musical productions including Hello, Dolly!, West Side Story, Cabaret and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In 2006, Tony-winning musical The Lion King re-located to the Minskoff Theatre after a nine-year run at the New Amsterdam Theater, and remains the theater's current production to this day. It can seat over 1,600 patrons.

Handicap Accessibility

Wheelchair accessible seating is available within the Orchestra section only, as there are no elevators to provide wheelchair access to upper levels. Those with limited mobility may utilize the theater's aisle transfer seats, which feature movable arm rests to allow for more room getting in and out of the seat. These seats can be found in both the Orchestra and Mezzanine levels. Guests requiring accessible seating are guaranteed to have unobstructed views of the stage and can purchase up to three adjacent companion seats, subject to availability. Restrooms are also in compliance with ADA standards.

Club/Suite Ticket Packages

Due to the small-scale size of the venue, there are no premium seating packages available. However, guests seated in every corner of the theater will find unobstructed views of the stage and won't miss a second of the action.

Amenities

Patrons are prohibited from bringing in outside food or beverages. However, the theater boasts bars in both the Orchestra and Mezzanine levels, each offering a variety of small bites and beverages prior to the show time and during intermission. Men's, women's and family restrooms are also available throughout the theater.

Parking/Transportation

Given the theater's metropolitan location, parking is extremely limited. Therefore, guests are strongly encouraged to use public transportation when planning their trip. Its central location near Times Square makes the Minskoff Theatre easy to get to through a number of public transit methods. Direct access is offered via the M104, M10, M27/M50 and M42 bus routes, as well as various subway trains that run to 42nd Street, 50th Street, Times Square and 49th Street.
