Atlanta Gladiators's History

The Atlanta Gladiators is a professional ice hockey team that belongs to the ECHL. The team was originally established in 2003 as the Gwinnett Gladiators, based in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The team started as an expansion franchise in the East Coast Hockey League and played their first game on October 17, 2003, against the Augusta Lynx.

The team had a successful inaugural season, finishing with a record of 43-19-10, while drawing an average of 5,230 fans per game. In their second season, the team won their division and advanced to the Kelly Cup Finals but lost to the Idaho Steelheads in five games.
