With a number of hit songs, millions of adoring fans, and a remarkable 20-year career to her name, it's no wonder why they call her the Queen. Find out why people all around the world can't get enough of Beyonce.
Beyonce Knowles knew early on that she wanted to be a performer - and she had the vocal chops to prove it. She launched her career at only 16 years old as the lead singer of pop/R&B girl group Destiny's Child. She earned a collection of hits and even multiple Grammys with the group but by the early 2000s was ready to branch out as a solo artist. Her 2003 debut album Dangerously in Love secured her status as one of modern music's most in-demand artists. The record remains her best-selling album to date and spawned No. 1 singles " Baby Boy" and "Crazy in Love," her most famous collaboration with husband Jay-Z.
She continued to dominate radio waves with subsequent albums B'Day, I Am...Sasha Fierce, 4, Beyonce, and Lemonade, which fans and critics alike praised as her most influential work to date. In 2018, after massive solo success and several prior collaborations, she released her first joint album with Jay-Z Everything Is Love, which credits the couple as The Carters. They have also joined forces on the wildly popular On The Run and On The Run II tours.
Beyonce has sold out some of the world's biggest venues for showstopping performances, including headlining slots at both the Super Bowl and Coachella Music Festival. Her long list of accolades include multiple Grammys, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. She is the most nominated female artist in Grammy history with over 60 nominations and is the winningest artist at the MTV Video Music Awards, BET Awards and Soul Train Awards. In addition to her outstanding music career, Beyonce has ventured in acting and had roles in films like Austin Powers in Goldmember, Obsessed, Cadillac Records and the critically acclaimed Dreamgirls.
Among Beyonce's catalog of hits are No. 1 smashes "Irreplaceable," "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," and "Crazy in Love." Other fan-favorite songs include "Formation," "Halo," "If I Were A Boy," "Love On Top," "Naughty Girl, " "Best Thing I Never Had," "Drunk in Love" and "Hold Up." She is also known for collaborations with Lady Gaga, Sean Paul, DJ Khaled, Shakira, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj and her most frequent collaborator, Jay-Z.
With the release of her acclaimed album Lemonade, she became the first artist in history to have six consecutive albums top the Billboard 200 chart.
