Classic rockers Journey are bringing their massive hits to the Las Vegas Strip. The band announced their brief concert residency at Caesars Palace, which is set to launch October 9.
Journey will perform nine shows at the Caesars Palace Colosseum throughout October. The limited engagement marks Journey’s first Las Vegas residency throughout their 45-year career. There’s no word yet if the residency will be expanded if successful, but the venue may be looking for more mainstay performers. Celine Dion will finally close her eight-year residency at Caesars in June before embarking on a new world tour this fall. Other performers headlining residency shows at the resort include Rod Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld and Reba with Brooks & Dunn.
Building up to their exciting residency announcement, Journey has been quite busy. They set out on a massive co-headlining tour last year with Def Leppard that touched down in over 50 North American cities. Last month, they welcomed the release of their double CD/DVD Live in Japan 2017: Escape + Frontiers.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers – currently comprised of Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Steve Smith, Ross Valory and Arnel Pineda – have not released a new studio album since 2011. However, fans can certainly expect to hear all of Journey’s 80s rock anthems in their upcoming gigs, including their signature “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
