Want tickets to this year’s Dodgers-Yankees World Series for less than $1,000 each? Better buy them quickly – because there’s only one pair available below that price.
With two of the most storied franchises in baseball facing off in the fall classic, prices are at historically high levels for games at Dodger Stadium on one coast and Yankee Stadium on the other. Following the pennant-clinching performances this weekend, World Series ticket prices in the stratosphere to see the New York Yankees taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers. On average, the cheapest ticket on Ticket Club is around $1,200 depending on what game you hope to see. Median asking prices are over $2,200 per ticket, which means the savings that Ticket Club members are seeing vs. purchasing on other resale marketplaces are also significant.
“It’s no surprise that the demand for this World Series has led to a significant premium price,” says Ticket Club’s Sean Burns. “Management for both the Yankees and Dodgers aren’t shy about charging premium prices even for those who can get them straight through the team, and that always gets reflected in resale prices. Plus, you’ve got a Yankees team that hasn’t seen a home World Series game in more than a decade, which is why those Bronx tickets are even more valued.”
As of Monday morning, only World Series game one – scheduled for Friday, October 25 at Dodger Stadium – has any tickets available at cheaper than $1,000. It is literally a single pair of tickets – available for $996 for Ticket Club members. Tickets to game 7 – which would be played on Saturday, November 2 at Dodger Stadium – are going for a minimum of $1,337 for Ticket Club members, with a median asking price of $2,480 for coveted seats to that game (assuming it is played).

As mentioned, the home game premium is higher for the New York fans, based off of what we’re seeing on Ticket Club as fans rush to grab their tickets. Game 3, which will be the first World Series game at Yankee Stadium since the clincher of the ballclub’s 27th championship on November 4, 2009, is seeing the second-highest prices of the series – only lower than a potential Game 7 matchup in LA.
Comparison shopping shows the key value of the Ticket Club membership when the asking price for an event is so high. A $2,002 ticket for a member would run $480 higher for a non-member. And fees on more “traditional” resale marketplaces are even higher than that in many instances – a $2,000 ticket available Monday morning on one of the bigger “name-brand” websites would actually be more than $800 more than the advertised price when fees are calculated.
Either way, the table is set for some fantastic fall baseball in the next two weeks. These franchises have actually played each other 12 times in the World Series, dating back to the 1941 World Series between the Yankees and then-Brooklyn Dodgers. That was the first of seven “subway series” meetings between the New York neighbors before the Dodgers left Ebbets Field for California in the late 1950s. Brooklyn won only one of those matchups – taking the 1955 title after the Yankees had hoisted the trophy in 1941, ’47, ’49, ’52, and 1953. The Bronx Bombers won the final intra-city World Series between the clubs in 1956.
In 1963, the Los Angeles Dodgers won the first World Series on the west coast with the only 4-0 sweep in the long history between the two in postseason play. New York took 4-2 wins in both the 1977 and ’78 World Series over LA, with the Dodgers taking victory in the 1981 World Series, the last postseason matchup between the pair.
In interleague play this year, Los Angeles captured two of three games played at Yankee Stadium, bringing the all-time combined (postseason and interleague) record of contests between the storied clubs to a 48-40 advantage for the Yankees.
A win in the World Series this year would be title No. 28 for the Yankees, and a first since 2009. For the Dodgers, they are aiming for championship No. 8, having last won in 2020.
