Shawn Mendes Extends 2019 World Tour

Shawn Mendes is having his biggest year yet, so it’s only fitting that his Shawn Mendes: The Tour be his biggest tour yet. The singer-songwriter has added 16 shows to his North American itinerary and revealed that Grammy-winner Alessia Cara will join him on select dates.

The revised tour schedule now includes shows in Grand Rapids, Milwaukee, Louisville, Columbus, and Philadelphia. Mendes has also added second dates in LA, Oakland, Newark, Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, and Montreal, plus back-to-back nights in Uncasville, Connecticut. Alessia Cara will open those dates, plus the entirety of Mendes’ North American, European and U.K. tour legs.

Both Canadian artists have had banner years. Cara recently put out her sophomore album The Pains of Growing while Mendes’ self-titled third album earned the 20-year-old his first pair of Grammy nominations. Due to overwhelming popularity, Mendes’ headlining tour will also feature his first-ever stadium gig. He’ll take over the Rogers Centre in his hometown of Toronto September 6, calling it his “most special show” so far.

Shawn Mendes: The Tour now consists of an astonishing 95 dates across four continents. Mendes is kicking off the arduous touring schedule overseas in March before launching the North American stretch of shows in June. He is set to close out the busy year with an Australian tour in the fall, followed by a trip around South and Latin America in December.
