Jennifer Lopez Announces New North American Tour

Jennifer Lopez has big plans for turning the big 5-0. The star revealed today she’ll embark on a new headlining tour this summer in honor of her milestone birthday.

The It’s My Party: The Live Celebration Tour marks J. Lo’s first tour in six years. It kicks off June 7 in Phoenix and will wrap with a final bash in Miami on July 26, two days after Lopez’s 50th birthday. She will visit 24 cities across the U.S. and Canada during the seven-week run, including Toronto, Denver, San Diego, Philadelphia, and New York. Also included on the itinerary is a June 28 gig in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Lopez made the exciting announcement while visiting The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “My birthday’s in July so this summer I decided I wanted to do something big for my birthday since it is a big birthday and I’m going on a U.S. tour,” she told the audience. Watch the full clip below.

Promoter Live Nation promises that “fans can anticipate a signature Jennifer Lopez show each night,” complete with high-energy music and choreography plus over-the-top set designs and costumes. Another aspect the tour will celebrate is Lopez’s television dance competition series “World of Dance.” Several dancers who’ve appeared on the show – which J. Lo has executive produced and served as a judge since 2017 – will give surprise performances at each date on the It’s My Party Tour.

Although it’s been six years since her last tour, the triple-threat star has kept plenty busy. From 2016 to 2018, she headlined her wildly successful All I Have Las Vegas residency show at Planet Hollywood. Lopez starred in NBC’s cop drama “Shades of Blue” during that time, as well as the new film Second Act and will continue to judge the upcoming season of “World of Dance.” Most recently, she performed an energetic, yet polarizing Motown tribute at the 61st Grammy Awards.

2019 marks not only a milestone birthday for Jennifer Lopez but a career milestone as well. She celebrates 20 years since the release of her debut album On The 6, which featured hit singles “Let’s Get Loud,” “Waiting for Tonight” and “If You Had My Love.” The LP catapulted the Latin star onto the global music map and set the stage for her unmatched career.
