“Baby Shark,” the upbeat children’s song that became a viral sensation, is about to get stuck in the heads of millions more as part of a new touring family show.
Baby Shark Live will visit 100 cities across North America this fall. The massive tour will get underway this October, however, official dates will be released July 9. Producing the show are Round Room Live, which also turned the popular kids show PJ Masks into a live experience, and South Korean family entertainment brand Pinkfong, which first released “Baby Shark” in 2015.
“We are really excited to be partnering with Pinkfong to bring a live version of their viral sensation ‘Baby Shark’ throughout the U.S. and Canada,” Round Room Live co-President Stephen Shaw said in a statement. “Baby Shark Live is a world class children’s brand that transfers naturally to the live stage, and we can’t wait to delight fans with this fun and engaging concert experience.”
The new show will follow (you guessed it) Baby Shark and his fox friend Pinkfong on an adventure that spans both land and sea. It will serve as both a concert showcasing Pinkfong-produced songs as well as an educational show featuring interactive video components. Families can expect to hear familiar songs like “Wheels on the Bus,” “Jungle Boogie,” “Five Little Monkeys,” and of course, the show’s namesake hit.
“Baby Shark” took the Internet – and world – by storm in the past year. The undeniably catchy tune was set to a children’s dance video that has since amassed nearly three billion views on YouTube, placing it among the site’s most-watched content. This viral success translated to the Billboard Hot 100, cracking the Top 40 earlier this year. Most recently, Nickelodeon unveiled plans to turn the song into a brand new television program.
