Alanis Morissette Details 2020 Tour for 25th Anniversary of ‘Jagged Little Pill’

You oughta know that one of the world’s most successful albums is turning 25, but Alanis Morissette is here to remind you anyway. The rock icon will celebrate the 25th anniversary of her signature album Jagged Little Pill with a world tour, launching next summer.

Morissette will be hitting the road in June and spend eight weeks performing her biggest hits in amphitheaters across North America. She’ll kick off the trek June 2 in Ridgefield, Washington and headline venues in Phoenix, Tampa, Detroit and more before wrapping in Nashville on July 25. A total of 29 cities make up the North American itinerary. Lending their support on the jaunt are special guests Garbage and Liz Phair.

While the Canadian songstress released two albums in the early 1990s, she didn’t launch into the mainstream until her third record Jagged Little Pill debuted in 1995. It became a global smash, earning Morissette multiple Grammys and No. 1 singles “Ironic,” “Hand in My Pocket,” “You Learn” and “Head Over Feet.” Jagged Little Pill is one of the world’s best-selling albums with more than 33 million copies sold and its cultural impact continues to grow.

The album became the basis of a stage musical by the same name, which features its full track list as well as other Morissette recordings. Oscar winner Diablo Cody wrote the story, while Morissette teamed up again with her JLP collaborator Glen Ballard to compose two new songs. Jagged Little Pill the musical is set for its debut at Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre on December 5.

While Jagged Little Pill will be her album on most fans’ minds in 2020, Morissette also has a new record on the way. She is slated to release her latest LP Such Pretty Forks in the Road this coming May. It marks her eighth studio album and first since 2012’s Havoc and Bright Lights.
