Queen are the champions of the world, and to prove it, they are heading out on a brand new headlining tour. The iconic rockers announced their latest trek, The Rhapsody Tour, which will bring them and longtime collaborator Adam Lambert to North American arenas next summer.
The Rhapsody Tour will kick off in Vancouver on July 10 and stretch just over a month before wrapping in Charlotte on August 23. A total of 23 cities make up the itinerary, including stops in major markets like Chicago, Toronto, New York, San Jose, Houston and Nashville. This marks the group’s first North American tour since 2017 after they spent much of this past year performing overseas in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
The official tour announcement comes a month after the theatrical release of Bohemian Rhapsody, the musical biopic detailing the band’s rise to fame under late frontman Freddie Mercury (played with heart by Rami Malek). Shortly after its release, Bohemian Rhapsody shattered box office records to become the highest-grossing musical biopic of all time, surpassing 2015’s Straight Outta Compton. On top of that, it put three of the band’s biggest hits, “We Are the Champions,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” and the film’s title track, back on the Billboard Rock Chart, all of which landed in the top 20.
Queen – currently comprised of founding members Brian May and Roger Taylor – joined forces with American Idol alum Adam Lambert in 2011, and they have been an unstoppable force in music ever since. Critics have praised Lambert as a group frontman, with many noting how his vocals and showmanship emulate Mercury’s iconic stage presence. Since collaborating, they have gone on several extensive tours, headlined Rock in Rio, and scored a residency show at the Park Theater at Park MGM in Las Vegas.
