Life just got a whole lot sweeter for Old Dominion fans. The country group dropped their new, feel-good single “Make It Sweet” today and announced plans for a 2019 arena tour.
After weeks of teasing new music on their social media, Old Dominion finally unveiled what they’ve been working on in the studio. “Make It Sweet” follows the familiar formula they’ve crafted for hits like “No Such Thing As a Broken Heart,” “Snapback” and current Country Airplay No. 1 “Hotel Key.” Frontman Matthew Ramsey zeroes in on making the most of every moment, culminating in the simple lesson that “life is short, make it sweet.” The track is the band’s first new release since dropping their sophomore album Happy Endings last year.
The Nashville-based band will launch their Make It Sweet Tour January 18 in Chicago and invade major markets across North America through April before wrapping up the trek in San Jose. A total of 23 cities are on the itinerary, including Washington D.C., Madison, Omaha, Reno, Scottsdale and Tallahassee. Joining them in support are rising country artists Jordan Davis, Morgan Evans and Mitchel Tenpenny.
Old Dominion are currently on the road for a batch of fall dates on their Happy Endings World Tour, which they launched earlier this year. In between tour legs, the quintet played North American stadiums alongside Thomas Rhett and Kenny Chesney on the latter’s Trip Around the Sun Tour.
