8 Broadway and Off-Broadway Shows Closing in April

Brooklyn Laundry 

Written and directed by John Patrick Shanley, “Brooklyn Laundry” offers an exploration of love, ambition, and the pursuit of happiness. The cast includes Florencia Lozano, Cecily Strong, Andrea Syglowski and David Zayas. This Off-Broadway production is scheduled to close Sunday, April 14 at New York City Center – Stage.

Corruption 

J.T. Rogers’ Off-Broadway drama “Corruption” highlights the scandalous underbelly of media powerhouses. Featuring an ensemble cast including Dylan Baker and Saffron Burrows, this riveting production exposes the lengths some will go to in the pursuit of truth and justice. 

Directed by Bartlett Sher, “Corruption” is slated to close on Sunday, April 14 at Mitzi E. Newhouse Theatre. 

Dead Outlaw 

Join the hunt for truth in “Dead Outlaw,” a tale of mystery and discovery. With music and lyrics by David Yazbek and Erik Della Penna, this production follows the journey of Elmer McCurdy’s mummified remains and the secrets they hold. The cast includes Jeb Brown, Eddie Cooper, and Andrew Durand. 

Off-Broadway’s “Dead Outlaw” is set to close on Sunday, April 14 at Minetta Lane Theatre. 

Hamlet 

Experience Shakespeare like never before in this solo adaptation of “Hamlet,” starring Eddie Izzard. With a single actor portraying all 23 roles, this innovative take on the timeless classic.

This Off-Broadway production is directed by Selena Cadell and is set to close on Sunday, April 14 at Orpheum Theater. 

Tuesdays With Morrie 

Based on the autobiographical book by Mitch Albom, “Tuesdays with Morrie” explores friendship, mortality, and the meaning of life. Led by Len Cariou and Chris Domig, this production reminds audiences of the importance of cherishing every moment. 

Directed by Erwin Mass and written by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom, “Tuesdays with Morrie” is slated to close Sunday, April 20 at Sea Dog Theater. 

Doubt 

John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama “Doubt” confronts the complexities of morality and certainty. The cast includes Tyne Daly, Liev Schreiber, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, and Zoe Kazan. The play follows a stern principal of a Catholic school in the Bronx and her suspicions of an inappropriate relationship between a priest and a student. 

Directed by Scott Ellis, Broadway’s “Doubt” is set to close on Sunday, April 21 at Todd Haimes Theatre. 

Kimberly Akimbo 

David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori’s “Kimberly Akimbo” is a quirky and heartfelt coming-of-age story. Led by Victoria Clark and Justin Cooley, this Broadway production tells the story of Kim, a witty and vibrant teenager from New Jersey, who bears the appearance of a 72-year-old woman.

Directed by Jessica Stone, “Kimberly Akimbo” is set to close on Sunday, April 28 at Booth Theatre.
