Trans-Siberian Orchestra Brings Back The Lost Christmas Eve for 20th Anniversary Tour

The holiday season is about to get a lot more festive as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) returns with 109 performances. This year’s tour marks a milestone as TSO brings back the rock opera The Lost Christmas Eve, celebrating its 20th anniversary with live performances for the first time in over a decade.

Additionally, TSO is set to make history. In addition to performing for their 20 millionth fan, the band is also celebrating a charitable achievement, having donated $20 million over the years through their tours. TSO has long been committed to giving back, donating at least $1 from every ticket sold to charity.

The Lost Christmas Eve tells the story of a businessman who, after suffering the tragic loss of his wife, turns away from his family and isolates himself. On a cold Christmas Eve, a chance encounter with a mysterious girl leads him on a journey of self-discovery and ultimately to reconnect with the son he abandoned years before.

Al Pitrelli, the band’s music director and lead guitarist, spoke about the deeper meaning behind The Lost Christmas Eve. “When Paul O’Neill and I were creating this piece, we often talked about the value of time. Paul believed that losing money or things wasn’t nearly as devastating as losing time, because you can never get it back. The story of The Lost Christmas Eve reflects this sentiment—it’s about redemption, forgiveness, and the hope that it’s never too late to make things right.”

Rhino Records is set to release a special edition vinyl of The Lost Christmas Eve on September 13, featuring a 2-LP set complete with a deluxe 20-page booklet.
