How ‘Bout Them Cowboys? Also, How ‘Bout Them Raiders?
NFL fans got their first crack at purchasing tickets to the upcoming 2023 season this week with Thursday’s leaguewide schedule release, and it’s clear who is in peak demand. The Las Vegas Raiders, still new to their Nevada home city and gleaming Allegiant Stadium saw the highest demand for home games, while the perennial favorite Dallas Cowboys were by far the hottest selling draw for their road games.
While sales data is just beginning to unfold, it’s obvious that the market has been set, and fans are chomping at the bit to see their favorites in action.
In terms of home team sales, Las Vegas sales made up almost 15% of the entire value of tickets sold, with the team selling both large numbers of tickets, and tickets at a high individual value. Pittsburgh home games covered just shy of 10%, with the LA Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, and Cowboys home games next in line.

In terms of visitors, the Cowboys – always a top road draw – are seeing just over 14% of the total sales thus far for NFL 2023 tickets for games where they are the visitor, trailed by the Steelers at just over 10%. The Packers, Giants, and Jets all grabbed six percent of the total, showing clear signs that their fan base is willing to travel and/or they get opposing fans ready to cheer against them when they have a chance!

Overall, the hottest single game of the season is when the Green Bay Packers head to Allegiant Stadium to take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, October 9. That game has sold the most tickets thus far according to our data, and fans are paying a premium price. The average ticket remaining on our marketplace to see that contest is seeing a $929 asking price, while the “get-in” minimum stood at $429 as of Friday morning.
The majority of the hottest selling contests for the NFL 2023 season are early-season tilts. Five of the Top 10 sellers take place in September, with three on September 24 alone. Only one – the New York Giants’ visit to rival Dallas on November 12 – takes place later than Halloween.
