Bob Dylan has rolled out dates for a extensive run across the U.S. this fall. The singer-songwriter will hit the road beginning next month for the tour, which marks his first set of North American shows this year.
It all kicks off October 11 in Irvine, California at UC Irvine’s Bren Events Center. Dylan will spend six weeks traveling coast-to-coast before wrapping in Philadelphia on November 21. He will visit 28 cities on the trek, including Milwaukee, Santa Barbara, Providence and Chicago. The tour itinerary puts a particular emphasis on college towns, with Dylan booked to perform at several college campuses, including Ohio State, Stanford, University of Michigan, and Penn State to name a few.
Dylan’s upcoming run follows a busy year of touring overseas. His aptly named Never Ending Tour raged on for the 31st year with nearly 40 shows throughout Europe, including two nights where he shared the stage with Neil Young. In 2018, Dylan embarked on an 84-date world tour that featured various festival appearances and a seven-night run at New York’s Beacon Theatre.
His busy touring schedule has not sidelined any hopes at new music as the 78-year-old icon is routinely in the studio. From 2015-2017 he dropped three consecutive cover albums containing beloved American standards. Dylan’s last album containing original material was 2012’s Tempest.
