7 Must-See September 2024 Music Festivals

September 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting month for music enthusiasts across the country. From Zach Bryan and Noah Kahan to Dave Matthews Band and Blink-182, this month’s festival lineup offers something for every listener. 

Ticket Club takes a deeper look into the must-see festivals of September 2024. 

Bourbon & Beyond Festival 

Dubbed “the world’s largest music, food, and bourbon festival,” Louisville’s Bourbon & Beyond Festival is scheduled to take place on September 19 to 22 at the Highland Festival Grounds – with over 100 artists set to perform. Slated to headline the festival are Zach Bryan, Sting 3.0, Dave Matthews Band, and Tyler Childers. 

Other performers set to take the stage are Matchbox Twenty, The National, My Morning Jacket, The War on Drugs, Mt. Joy, Maren Morris, The Head and the Heart, and Tedeschi Truck Band. 

Notably, Sting 3.0 was added to the lineup after Neil Young and Crazy Horse had canceled their remaining 2024 tour dates due to the band members experiencing an illness. 

iHeartRadio Music Festival 

Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, The 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival is scheduled to take place at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on September 20 and 21. 

Set to take the stage are artists Doja Cat, Gwen Stefani, Big Sean, Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa and Halsey. In a recent announcement, the festival also added The Weeknd, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and A$AP Rocky. 

Artists Hozier, Keith Urban, New Kids on the Block, Paramore, Shaboozey, The Black Crowes, Thomas Rhett, and Victoria Monét are also scheduled to perform. 

Riot Festival 

Riot Festival is returning to Chicago from September 20 to 22. Originally scheduled to take place at Bridgeview, Illinois’ SeatGeek Stadium, the festival announced a last-minute return to its long-time home at Douglas Park. 

This year’s festival headliners are Fall Out Boy, Slayer, and Beck. Other notable acts include Rob Zombie, St. Vincent, The Offspring, Public Enemy, Bright Eyes, Sublime, Dr. Dog, and more. 

Louder Than Life Festival 

Louder Than Life Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary this September with a lineup of top rock and metal acts. From September 26 through 29, the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville is gearing up to host 150 artists across five stages alongside headliners Slayer, Slipknot, Mötley Crüe, and Korn. 

The festival is also slated to feature performances from metal artists such as Disturbed, Judas Priest, and Five Finger Death Punch, alongside rock favorites such as The Offspring, Breaking Benjamin, and Seether. 

Festivalgoers can also look forward to sets from Evanescence, Dropkick Murphys, Falling in Reverse, and Chevelle, among others. 

Oceans Calling Festival

Ocean City, Maryland, is getting ready to welcome back the Oceans Calling Festival. The event is scheduled to take place September 27 to 29 and is expected to feature 40 acts across three stages. 

Headlining Friday night are Blink-182 alongside Sublime,  Cage the Elephant, Sublime, 311, O.A.R., The Revivalist, The Darkness, Sugar Ray, Larkin Poe, Tonic, Phillip Phillips, Winona Fighter, and Vincent Lima. 

Taking the stage Saturday are The Killers, The Offspring, Rebelution, The Beach Boys, Young the Giant, The All-American Rejects, The Hives, GroupLove, Switchfoot, The Beaches, Tom Odell, Trevor Hall, The Samples and Katelyn Tarver. 

Rounding out the festival on Sunday are Dave Matthews Band, Mt. Joy, Counting Crows, Boys II Men, Barenaked Ladies, Blues Traveler, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Guster, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Lisa Loeb, Jade Bird and Stephen Kellogg. 

Soundside Music Festival 

The Soundside Music Festival is set to debut under its new name on September 28 and 29, at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The two-day event will feature New England native Noah Kahan headlining on Saturday, followed by  American rock band Foo Fighters on Sunday.

Joining Kahan on Saturday’s lineup are the Goo Goo Dolls, Fleet Foxes, Boyz II Men, Grace Potter, Thee Sacred Souls, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Lisa Loeb and Nine Stories, Madi Diaz, and Rijah.

Sunday’s performances, headlined by Foo Fighters, will include Queens of the Stone Age, Norah Jones, Teddy Swims, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Kills, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, War & Treaty, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and Darren Kiely.

Evolution Festival

Evolution is planning its return to Forest Park in Saint Louis, MO, on September 28 and 29. Slated to headline the 2024 edition are The Killers and Beck. 

The headliners are set to be joined by other notable artists such as Janes’ Addiction, Blondie, Nile Rodgers & Chic. Killer Mike, Elle King, Todd Rundgren, Pete Yorn, Son Colt, Robert Finley and others are also scheduled to perform. 

In between sets, festivalgoers can enjoy an array of culinary experiences, cocktails, art, a beer garden, a marketplace, and more.
