Rascal Flatts are calling it quits. The country trio announced they are going their separate ways after 20 years together and capping their illustrious career with a farewell tour.
Their final trek – dubbed Rascal Flatts Farewell: Life Is A Highway Tour – will get underway June 11 in Indianapolis. From there, they will visit two dozen cities, including Detroit, San Diego, St. Louis, Chicago and Phoenix. An October 17 show in West Palm Beach, Florida will mark the group’s final performance.
“When we started out 20 years ago, we could not imagine all of the people, places and gifts we would encounter,” the band shared in a tweet. “As we head out on the Rascal Flatts Farewell – Life Is A Highway Tour, there is no sadness. Just new chapters, new journeys, and new beginnings.”
Since their formation two decades ago, Rascal Flatts have been an unstoppable musical force. The country trio – comprised of Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus – hit it big with their debut single “Prayin’ for Daylight” and went on to score more than a dozen No. 1 hits, including “Bless the Broken Road,” “My Wish,” “Fast Cars and Freedom,” and “I Like the Sound of That.”
Their crossover success has helped define Rascal Flatts and paved the way for fellow country-pop acts, including Taylor Swift, Maren Morris, Dan + Shay and more. Throughout their career, the trio have garnered 19 CMA Award nominations and won for Vocal Group of the Year six times.
Rascal Flatts are also one of the genre’s most consistent touring performers, and most recently set out on the Summer Playlist Tour to support their 2017 LP Back to Us.
