Legendary singer-songwriter Phil Collins is gearing up for a brief, but highly anticipated fall tour. The outing, titled ‘Phil Collins Not Dead Yet, Live!,’ will bring Collins to 15 North American cities, promoter Live Nation announced today. It is set to kick off October 5 in Fort Lauderdale and stretch through the end of the month. It will conclude October 28 with an epic night of music in Los Angeles at The Forum. Collins will headline major markets across coast-to-coast, including Boston, Las Vegas, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Cleveland. Two Canadian gigs are listed on the itinerary as well in Toronto (October 11) and Montreal (October 16).
The tour comes in support of Collins’ 2016 memoir Not Dead Yet. He previously performed a number of sold-out shows in his native England following the book’s release, leaving fans across the pond to hold out for the possibility of a North American tour. It marks his first major touring commitment since taking part in a 2007 reunion tour with his former Genesis bandmates, and his first solo tour since 2005.
Though Collins is a renowned percussionist in his own right, he’ll ditch the drums on the upcoming trek to allow 16-year-old son Nicolas to step in, according to an official press release from Live Nation. Other longtime members of Collins’ backing band will also accompany him this fall.
Over the course of his 50-year career, Collins has garnered nine Grammy Awards (eight of which were won as a solo artist), an Academy Award, and been inducted as a member of both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the latter of which was with Genesis. He has also sold over 100 million records worldwide and scored dozens of No. 1 hits like “Against All Odds,” “Sussidio,” “A Groovy Kind of Love” and “One More Night.” Collins had retired from all musical projects in 2011 to focus on family, but in 2015 expressed an interest in returning to music. His last solo release was 2010’s Going Back, which topped the U.K.’s music chart.
