Michelle Obama Adds New Dates to ‘Becoming’ Book Tour

Michelle Obama still has more stories to tell. The former First Lady is extending her book tour into 2019, Live Nation announced today.

The second tour leg of Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama will kick off February 8 in Tacoma and extend through mid-May with a concluding date in Nashville. Mrs. Obama will visit a total of 21 cities across North America and Europe on the trek, including Vancouver, London, Austin, Cleveland and Atlanta. She will also stop in Paris next spring in a make-up date from a previously scheduled appearance that the author had to miss to attend the funeral of George H.W. Bush.

Michelle Obama’s book tour launched its first leg last month shortly after the release of Becoming, her tell-all memoir. Citizens filled major arenas around the country to see the former First Lady discuss various details of her life, from her upbringings to her eight years in the White House and current life in Washington.

Celebrity moderators from Oprah Winfrey to Reese Witherspoon have joined Mrs. Obama on the current stretch of tour dates, as well as scholars and political advisers like Elizabeth Alexander and Valerie Jarrett. Moderators are yet to be announced for 2019 tour dates, but if history is any indication, audiences can expect high-profile names.

Becoming is Michelle Obama’s second published book and first memoir. In the month since its release, it has sold over three million copies in the U.S. alone and shot to the top of the New York Times bestseller list.
