Alternative rockers Imagine Dragons have extended their Evolve Tour, announcing a string of North American shows today. The additional tour dates was accompanied by the release of the band’s latest single “Next To Me.”
The trek will kick off June 5 in Hartford, Conn. and stretch into August, hitting three dozen other cities along the way. Markets on the itinerary include Chicago, Houston, Nashville, Detroit, New Orleans, and Tampa, which serves as the tour’s final stop on August 10. A June 13 gig at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage serves as the lone Canadian stop along the tour. Sandwiched between new tour dates is the band’s previously-announced appearances at Milwaukee’s Summerfest and the Radio 104.5’s Birthday Show, also featuring Judah and the Lion.
An added bonus to the tour’s extension is new single “Next To Me.” The track is a distinct departure from booming, in-your-face melodies the band’s previous singles. Instead, it serves as a modest love song that features gospel-chorus influences. Listen to the full track below.
Imagine Dragons first launched the Evolve Tour last fall, which featured over thirty sold-out shows in North America and ongoing legs in Europe, South America, Australia and Asia. Grouplove and K. Flay joined the Las Vegas-based rockers during the initial run, while America’s Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal will tag along in support on the upcoming leg.
