Acclaimed vocal group Il Divo are extending their Timeless Tour into 2019 after a massive sold-out run in four continents earlier this year, Live Nation announced today. Their new stretch of tour dates will bring the internationally-renowned tenors to 19 cities, including Las Vegas, Detroit, San Diego, Chicago, Vancouver and Boston. It all kicks March 4 in Regina – the first of five Canadian shows – and will extend one month before wrapping at New York’s Beacon Theatre on April 6.
Il Divo is currently in the midst of their first North American leg of the tour, which will continue through December 22 and make stops in markets like Phoenix, Dallas, Denver, Montreal and Los Angeles. The quartet – comprised of vocalists Urs Buhler, Carlos Marin, David Miller and Sebastien Izambard – had previously performed sold-out shows across Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia earlier this year.
The massive world tour comes in support of Il Divo’s latest album Timeless, their eighth studio record and first under Universal Music. The record builds on Il Divo’s reputation for putting a classical spin on beloved hits from around the world, including one-of-a-kind covers of (as the name implies) “timeless” tunes like “Love Me Tender,” “Smile” and “Unforgettable” along with modern classics like Adele’s “Hello” and John Legend‘s “All of Me.”
Their upcoming 2019 shows not only extend the Timeless Tour but mark a major milestone for Il Divo: their 15th anniversary. The group was discovered by Simon Cowell in 2004 and have hit new heights of success since then. They have sold over 30 million albums worldwide, sold-out concert venues, and were the first classical crossover artists to have album debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart.
