Cher Extends Here We Go Again Tour

By overwhelming demand, Cher has extended her Here We Go Again Tour. The singer revealed today (March 29) an additional 14 tour dates that will keep her on the road through the end of 2019.

The new stretch of shows will begin November 19 in Portland and conclude a month later in Dallas. Cities listed on the itinerary include Houston, Denver, San Francisco, New Orleans and Washington, DC. Cher will also pay second visits to Chicago, Toronto, Boston and Philadelphia. Those cities are among the 30 initial dates of the Here We Go Again Tour, which kicked off January. The first leg of the tour, currently on brief hiatus, will resume April 18 in Pittsburgh and run through May 30.

Cher’s busy schedule will keep her booked through the remainder of the year. In addition to her North American tour dates, the singer/actress is taking the tour overseas to the UK and Europe in the fall. She also continues to perform regularly in both Las Vegas and Washington as part of her ongoing residency show Classic Cher.

The Here We Go Again Tour comes in support of Cher’s ABBA tribute album Dancing Queen. She confirmed plans for the record upon announcing the tour in September. As her first studio release in five years, Dancing Queen fittingly came after Cher’s appearance in the musical blockbuster Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, for which she earned critical acclaim. Much like the movie, the album itself proved to be a smash. It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart and became Cher’s most successful record in terms of first-week sales.

The success of the cover album and subsequent tour capped a year of major accomplishments for Cher. In addition to her praised performance in the Mamma Mia! sequel, she was also a 2018 recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors and saw the opening of her own biographical musical on Broadway, The Cher Show.
