Billy Joel can check off a major career milestone that most artists only dream of: notching 100 performances at the World’s Most Famous Arena. The native New Yorker first played Madison Square Garden more than 40 years ago, but has become a mainstay thanks to his concert residency which began in 2014. Among the hustle and bustle within Boston yesterday, music sounded all around Harvard Square as the first night of Boston Calling commenced.
Three different stages lined the grounds of Harvard’s Athletic Complex, along with the IKEA Music Lab and Arena stage.
