Lil Wayne Marks 20 Years of ‘Tha Carter’ Series With New Album and North American Tour

Lil Wayne is hitting the road this summer with the announcement of his “Tha Carter VI Tour.”

The five-time Grammy Award-winning rap artist revealed plans for the North American trek, a run set to commemorate over 20 years of his Tha Carter album series while supporting his latest release, Tha Carter VI, which dropped on June 6.

The 34-city tour will see the rapper perform in cities such as Virginia Beach, Atlantic City, Toronto, Cincinnati, Detroit, Kansas City, Seattle, Los Angeles, Austin, Dallas, Oklahoma City and Atlanta before wrapping up on October 2 in West Palm Beach at iThink Financial Amphitheatre.

Joining Lil Wayne on tour will be longtime collaborator Tyga, alongside Belly Gang Kushington, both of whom will appear on every stop of the tour. Rising rapper NoCap is also slated to appear on select dates.

The “Tha Carter” series, which began in 2004, has become synonymous with Lil Wayne’s ascent to hip-hop royalty. Landmark albums such as 2008’s 6x platinum, Grammy-winning Tha Carter III and its 5x platinum follow-up Tha Carter IV helped solidify his standing at the forefront of the genre. The series’ fifth installment arrived in 2018, debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 and achieving the second-largest streaming week for an album in history at the time.

Fans looking to catch the “Lollipop” rapper live can purchase their tickets through Ticket Club, where members never pay hidden service fees.
