Disney On Ice has been the family-friendly event to beat for more than two decades, and it continued to dominate in 2018. Mickey Mouse and company skated their way to earning five spots on this year’s list of the best-selling family shows.
Part of what makes Disney On Ice such a strong-performing family event is its widespread availability and multiple touring productions. The juggernaut dazzled audiences of all ages with a number of touring shows this year, including Frozen, Dare to Dream, Follow Your Heart and Mickey’s Search Party. Each of those was among the Top 10 Best-Selling Family Shows of 2018, as well as The Wonderful World of Disney, making Disney On Ice the undeniable powerhouse family event.
However, not a single Disney On Ice show could break into the Top 3 of the rankings. The top spot was occupied by Monster Jam, which has packed both arenas and stadiums full of excited youngsters all year. Trailing closely behind are the always-entertaining Harlem Globetrotters and live stage version of Nickeldeon’s hit series Paw Patrol at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
