Monster Jam Crushes 2019 Family Entertainment Sales

Monster Jam demolished the competition this year as the best-selling family entertainment event. The long-running monster truck series did a victory lap among other family-focused events, including the Harlem Globetrotters, Disney on Ice and Paw Patrol.

Monster Jam produced more ticket sales than all five of the running Disney On Ice tours combined. This is largely due to multiple concurrent tours – including the Triple Threat Series – which routinely visit large-scale arenas and even the occasional stadium as an added sales boost. Families were also able to enjoy the fun of Monster Jam without breaking the bank. Tickets to the show sold for an average of $46, which falls on the lower end of the pricing spectrum for the best-selling family entertainment events.

The next-highest earner was Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa. Her ongoing D.R.E.A.M. Tour proved an impressive feat in 2019 as she upgraded from headlining theaters to arenas. The teen sensation was in high demand, with tickets to her shows going for $115 on average.

Disney On Ice productions Mickey’s Search Party, Worlds of Enchantment, 100 Years of Magic, Dare to Dream and Frozen were hot sellers, as was the always-popular Paw Patrol Live, the Harlem Globetrotters and Kidz Bop.
